Britain's most adventurous festival

Written by Bryony Balen

A new but simple idea from the people behind Explorers Connect: taking the best from a weekend music festival, mixing it up with adventure and serving it with friends.

Why Basecamp?

Named by the UK Festival Awards as one the “Best non-music festivals”.

Try a range of adventure activities (including hiking, biking, kayaking, climbing, bushcraft), listen to tales of adventure from explorers and party in the woods to live music and entertainment. The Festival has sold out several weeks in advance every year so don’t wait too long to get your ticket!

What the people behind Base Camp say

We wanted to go to an annual shin-dig to celebrate adventure. And to get our mates out and about too, after all the only thing better than adventure is adventure shared. No one else seemed to be arranging the party, so in 2014 we thought we’d do it ourselves. If you like adventure too and hanging out with like-minded people, you’re going to love Base Camp Festival.

What Bryony from SC says

If you’re looking for an opportunity to meet like-minded adventure lovers, try new activities or learn from experts in a wide range of interesting fields, I can highly recommend Base Camp festival. As an adventure dabbler who likes to dip in and out of different sports [link to about the SCHQ team?], having a long weekend to sample a variety of events was brilliant, whilst never seeming too much like ‘organised fun’. The central fire-pit was a great spot for mingling with the blend of excited newbies and rugged (down-jacket wearing) experienced adventurers whilst the knots learnt on the bushcraft course will be coming in handy on my first sailing trip later this year.
